WhatsApp may soon bring these new features to iPhones

WhatsApp on iOS may soon receive a set of new features. The meta-owned instant messaging app is working on a few features for the iOS version, including a new camera shortcut, and the ability to search chats by date and community. These three features were spotted in the recent beta builds of the WhatsApp for iOS app.
A new camera shortcut coming to WhatsApp for iOS
The camera shortcut was first found in the beta build 2.22.20.5 of the Android app. As per a recent report from WABetaInfo, the same camera shortcut has made it to WhatsApp for iOS beta version 22.19.0.75. The shortcut appears within the navigation bar near the new chat shortcut. The report notes that the shortcut would only be shown to users who can create a community. The feature is currently under development, and if the report is to be believed, it should be made available for beta testers in the coming days.
Soon you will be able to search WhatsApp chats by date on iOS
WhatsApp started working on including the ability to search chats by date a long time ago, but it later scrapped the development. Now, WABetaInfo reports that the feature might be coming back soon to the iOS version of the app. The ability to search messages by date has been rolled out to beta testers with the beta update 22.0.19.73. The feature opens up the calendar whenever a user searches for a conversation, and the user can tap anywhere on the screen to dismiss the calendar.
WhatsApp community feature now rolling out to more beta testers on iOS
The communities feature is now rolling out for beta testers using WhatsApp beta for iOS version 22.19.0.72. Some of the users running the stable version of the app are also receiving the feature. You can add up to 10 groups while creating a community, and later you can have up to 50 groups in the community.
